It’s also a dream come true for Divas creator, director, and cast member Shi-Queeta-Lee, as seen on NBC’s America’s Got Talent (Season 4), ABC’s Ugly Betty, and reality shows DCTV’s Drag City:DC and TVOne’sR&B Divas. Honorary Chef Chair Adam Sobel of Bourbon Steak and more than 40 of Washington, D.C.’s top chefs representing the city’s best restaurants are preparing a unique sampling of the finest gourmet cuisine for guests to enjoy at the 15th annual St. Jude Gourmet Gala, presented by Hanover Research.

WHAT: The St. Jude Gourmet Gala and related auction support the pioneering research and exceptional care offered to children at St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital®, which is celebrating 50 years of finding cures for pediatric cancer and other deadly diseases, so no patient family ever pays St. Jude for anything. Other sponsors include Everfresh.

WHY: The St. Jude Gourmet Gala brings together the area’s most critically acclaimed chefs to raise awareness and funds for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which freely shares its research discoveries with the medical community. By doing so, every child saved at St. Jude means thousands more saved worldwide.

This annual sell-out event is attended by more than 750 business, financial and political leaders in the D.C. area. Mortified DC’s Annual Doomed Valentine’s Show @ Town Danceboutique

Mortified is a comic excavation of adolescent writing, art, and media.  Hailed as a “cultural phenomenon” by Newsweek, Mortified is a live show that allows us to relive the strange and extraordinary things we created as kids.  Witness adults sharing their own adolescent journals, letters, poems, lyrics, home movies, stories, and more.  Open to anyone from actors to accountants.  Must be 21+.

Crimes of Passion @ National Museum of Crime and Punishment

Back by popular demand, couples are invited to celebrate Valentine’s Day weekend and visit the Crime Museum to experience “Crimes of Passion,” a special exhibit that is unlike anything seen before. Upon entering the museum, on-staff wardens will bind couples together and lead them on their way to tour the three floors of the museum.  As they view over 600 exhibits regularly featured at the museum, they will also enjoy special exhibit boards placed throughout the museum explaining various crimes of passion, many of which took place in the D.C. metropolitan area.  Couples will delight their dark side with true stories such as the “Valentine’s Vampire,” all while being bound to one another during this unique Valentine’s journey.  Participants must be 18 years old with valid ID, to be handcuffe

Mardi Gras Soiree @ Carnegie Library at Mt. Vernon Square

Laissez les bons temps rouler! For the first time ever, LivingSocial and Events DC are partnering to create a Mardi Gras soirée featuring Big Easy-style food and fun – right here in the District at the historic Carnegie Library
