We Will Survive Cancer Plans 10th Anniversary “Celebration of Life”

We Will Survive Cancer fêtes its 10th anniversary with a black tie “Celebration of Life” on Friday, May 17, 2019 at the National Museum for Women in the Arts.  The event will feature a fashion presentation by Irina Mologoko, musical performances, a DJ, gourmet cuisine and open bar.

It will also celebrate Tigerlily Foundation Founder Maimah Karmo, a 13 year cancer survivor.  Gayela Bynum, We Will Survive Cancer founder says that Maimah’s life and work epitomize the words which inspired her to start the organization… “Don’t Waste My Cancer.”

“We Will Survive Cancer takes a different approach to battling cancer,” says gala co-Chair and founding board member Kimberly Wilde, “not just by seeking a medical cure, but also reinforcing the family’s emotional support.”

Money raised will assist the families of cancer patients to address needs like child care, family counseling, household finance management, transportation, and more.  K Street Magazine readers can receive a $50 discount off the $200 ticket price using the code VMPR50 here.
