[Vid] Chef Art Smith: “I’m a 5 Star Comedic Chef”

“It’s major drama-ridden tonight,” admitted Chef Art Smith at a viewing party for the first episode of Top Chef Masters at his restaurant, Art & Soul, Wednesday night.

Though he couldn’t talk about the results, Chef claimed his return to reality TV made him “more real and authentic” and gave him a platform to inspire people’s personal health and help them to be braver in the kitchen.  “Chefs are bigger than ever!” he beamed… just not in the literal sense.

In fact, Smith suggests fans have been equally as interested in his weight loss as in his mastery of the show’s culinary challenges.  “I heard the funniest thing: ‘Honeybear has returned. He’s lost 120 pounds and he’s gained 120 pounds of sass!’ I never thought of myself as a sassy Chef, but I guess I am.”

Because through all the food, fun and fanaticism, Chef’s kept his healthy attitude, as well as a sense of humor.

And whether he lasts one drama-ridden episode or the entire season, he shared his secret words of reality show wisdom: “It’s not about winning.  It’s about being remembered.”
