Vid: Baby Goat Yoga in the Historic Congressional Cemetery!

Historic Congressional Cemetery played host to Baby Goat Yoga on Saturday, May 18th.

This first ever Goat Yoga in the city had participants rolling out their mats for a 45-minute gentle and informative yoga class taught by Kelly Carnes of Carnes&Co, while cute baby goats from Prosperity Acres Farm roamed and took advantage of all of the attention — and those down dog poses for their climbing pleasure!

“It’s so much fun to snuggle with the baby goats and be around the baby goats,” says Mary Bowen, of Prosperity Acres Farm. “It helps lower your blood pressure and really gets you to focus on your inner self with the yoga, and just be present.”

Congressional Cemetery President “Paul Williams… has the most amazing events here at the cemetery, and he just knew that if he could set up a goat yoga, people would flock to it,” Bowen said.  He was right. All five sessions sold out.

Following the class, attendees had time for bottle feeding and learning more about the historic location and the farm whose goats have helped turned its lawn into a manicured masterpiece through their grazing.
