This waterless wonder opened yesterday.
Varnish Lane, DC’s newest nail salon, is the first East Coast brand to focus on waterless, locally-sourced, and all-natural services.
(Waterless, you ask? Apparently this technique has been heralded as a game-changer in the beauty industry, with benefits to include protection from bacteria and infections, longer lasting polish, and less damage to the environment.)
The mother/daughter duo, Carrie and Lauren Dunne, who worked with California entrepreneur Chad Stebbins to bring the brand inside the Beltway, are pleased to offer luxury amenities, like leather-reclining chairs, iPad minis loaded with all the best magazines, and the most major selection of polishes you’ve ever been able to not decide between.
Whether you’re in and out with a quick Fast Lane (warm towel wrap, nail shaping and polish to finish — $20), have more time for the signature Main Lane (Fast Lane plus a cuticle care and relaxing massage — $25), or are indulging in serious mani-bliss with the Luxe Lane (add on buffing, a proprietary exfoliating natural sugar scrub, moisturizing paraffin wax treatment, and extended massage –$40), you’ll leave with the prettiest paws… and not crying over a drop of wasted water.
Varnish Lane is now open at 5236 44th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20015
