Two of Indonesia’s top designers have their sights set on Hollywood.
Oscar Lawalata (below, dressing model) and Denny Wirawan (right, with models post show), hailing from distinct provinces of Indonesia, featured their Spring/Summer collections last night during an evening of Indonesian culture at the Ritz Carlton put on by the Indonesian Woven Cloths Association.
“She could wear them to a cocktail or evening event,” Lawalata said.
“These clothes are for parties… or the runway,” added Wirawan.
The pair of Indonesia’s top designers is traveling the world to showcase collections that — while ready for the international red carpet — are uniquely Indonesian.
“We get inspiration from our culture,” said Lawalata. “Tradition is the basic idea, which we transform into clothes for modern lifestyles.”
