Total Art, Now at NMWA

Because when women do it, they totally do it all the way.  This exhibition is the National Museum for Women in the Art’s first large-scale presentation of video art.

Beginning today, NMWA will present Total Art: Contemporary Video, the first museum exhibition to focus on women’s impact on the field of video art. Ten works are featured, including recently acquired museum collection works as well as loans from private and public collections.

Video art by Dara Birnbaum, Kimsooja, Mariko Mori, Mwangi Hutter, Alex Prager, Pipilotti Rist, Michal Rovner, Margaret Salmon, Eve Sussman/Rufus Corporation and Janaina Tschäpe will be on display as Total Art highlights the inventive processes and compelling subjects that sustain women artists’ position at the forefront of video.

Total Art remains on view through October 12, 2014.
