Entertainers mingled for more than dinner parties and political fun while in town last week for the “Prom.” They also merged minds with scientists and educators about projects, ideas and excitement about the kick off of National Lab Day – today!
Celebrities from The Creative Coalition (Patricia Arquette, Richard Schiff, Adrian Grenier, Wendie Malick, Cheryl Hines, Omar Epps, Marlon Wayans, Dana Delany, Tom Fontana, Tim Daly, CCH Pounder, and Steven Weber) stood behind NLD founders Jack Hidary and Robin Bronk to support online collaborations… à la Match.com?!
“1 in 8 marriages happening in the U.S. is via the internet,” Hidary said while comparing the NLD website to popular online dating sites. He hopes to use the same connecting concept to create collaboration for scientists, artists, and educators. “One that would marry art and innovation with science.”
*NLD is 4 months old and already has has at least one site in each state including Guam, Puerto Rico, and the Virgin Islands. NLD works with educators and students to bring discovery-based science experiences to students grades K-12.
