Thinking Pink – and Blue – As Men Against Breast Cancer Catwalks for a Cause

Washington’s sports elite turned out to Congressional Country Club in their finest shades of pink and blue to show support for Men Against Breast Cancer‘s 2012 Think Pink and Blue Awards and Fashion Show Thursday night.

The event honored Tanya Snyder, the First Lady of the Washington Redskins and wife of Dan Snyder (also in attendance), Comcast SportsNet’s Chick Hernandez, and The Eagle Bank Foundation for their work in providing awareness, education, and support in helping men to become effective caregivers when the women in their lives are affected by breast cancer.

The importance of the organization was highlighted by these award recipients as Chick Hernandez spoke of the education provided to him by MABC as he “blindly navigated the role of caregiver to his wife as well as nurturer to his three young daughters.”

Sponsored by Ratner Companies, T.H.E Artist Agency, and Comcast SportsNet, the event concluded with a men’s fashion show featuring such notable models as former Redskin Brian Mitchell, television personality Paul Wharton, meteorologist Doug Kammerer, and Redskin Chris Baker rocking the runway in the latest fall styles courtesy of Bloomingdales.
