Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. You’ll catch her interviewing guests on DC’s NewChannel8′s Let’s Talk Live and showcasing products on BestBuy.com, as well as work appearing on NBC, Fox, Comcast and local print publications.

THE REAL Washington DC

K Street Kate was selected to film with two other local “well-known city-dwellers” showcasing some insider DC hotspots on the show “THE REAL: Washington DC” airing on BBC Worldwide (anticipated air date, September).

This series of travel documentaries has previously featured Paris, Tokyo, New York, and other major tourist destinations, but this show is different. “THE REAL” series takes a look at the little-known, but very cool sights of some of the world’s major cities that the guide books don’t show you. These sites are off the beaten track from the usual tourist destinations. They are hip retreats, cool boutiques, or hot night spots that only those in-the-know could possibly reveal.
Want to know where I took them? You’ll have to watch! Be on the look out for me when it airs!
