The Dunes in Columbia Heights hosted an intimate gathering of friends, family, and colleagues to celebrate two of the 21 co-authors in Debbie Phillips’ second volume of Women on Fire: 21 Inspiring Women Share Their Life Secrets (and Save You Years of Struggle) on Wednesday night.
Michelle Whittaker, a DC resident, and Lisa Umberger Arundale, who flew up from Naples, FL for the event, both wrote about loss, grief, and healing in the book. In celebration of lessons learned, and the Women of Fire network that supported them, they both chose to share the circumstances of their pivotal, life changing moments with the audience. The group was captivated as they exemplified the attitude, courage, and stamina Phillips’ organization, Women on Fire, seeks to share around the country.
Women on Fire is a network of females throughout the United States and Canada “who support one another in their greatest ambitions and toughest transitions.” Created about 10 years ago during tea with friends, Phillips organically expanded the circle to friends, coworkers, and eventually women across the country.
