‘The Daily Show’ Desk Donated to The Newseum

Let’s take two seconds to lament Jon Stewart leaving “The Daily Show.”  One.  Two.  Le Sigh.Jon-Stewart-8

Now get excited.

Because the Newseum has announced that the set is coming to DC!  No, Stewart won’t be hosting or handing out headlines, but that famous desk will be on view for you to reminisce over all of his satiric barbs.

Stewart began hosting the show in 1999 and quickly generated a loyal following among a new generation of news consumers who identified with his sharp-witted humor. Quick to poke fun at politicians, newsmakers and authors, Stewart also made the news media a frequent target of his barbs.

The donation will become part of the Newseum’s collection for future display.
