Last Thursday night at the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, actors Geoffery Rush and Sophie Nelisse, director Brian Percival, and author Markus Zusakin were on hand to premiere the new motion picture THE BOOK THIEF.
Some 400 audience members — including 23 Holocaust survivors and Second Lady of the United States Dr. Jill Biden — watched the story of Liesel, a brave and spirited girl who finds escape from the horrors of Nazi Germany… in books.
Following the screening, THE BOOK THIEF cast participated in a panel discussion moderated by journalist Marvin Kalb to discuss how the film’s themes connect to the Museum’s current exhibition, “Some Were Neighbors: Collaboration and Complicity During the Holocaust.”
THE BOOK THIEF arrives in theaters nationwide November 27th.
