Emirates Airline — an official sponsor of the 2013 Citi Open and the title sponsor of the Emirates Airline US Open Series — hosted a ceremonial ribbon-cutting to showcase the completion of a community court refurbishment project in conjunction with the United States Tennis Association (USTA), the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation, and the Citi Open last week.

The ceremony featured an appearance and remarks by Mayor Vincent Gray, while ATP Tennis Pro Milos Raonic helped to break in the newly refurbished courts by participating in a youth tennis clinic with kids from King Greenleaf Recreation Center.

The clinic was supported by the “Emirates Returns” program, through which a donation of $5,000 in equipment was made to the D.C. Department of Parks and Recreation, and grants of $15,000 from USTA Serves through a donation by Emirates to both the Washington Tennis & Education Foundation and the Southeast Tennis & Learning Center in support of youth tennis and educational programming.
