Sweet Charity/Heart of America

Today I was asked to be on the Host Committee for the Heart of America Foundation’s Sweet Charity event and chocolate fashion show. Of course, I accepted!

The Heart of America Foundation is a non-profit that does incredible work, closely related to my work as Miss DC 2006. Heart of America’s goal is to give children everywhere the tools they need to read, succeed and make a difference.

The foundation annually hosts Sweet Charity, bringing together pastry chefs and chefs from the D.C. Metro Area’s leading restaurants for a unique event that emphasizes chocolate as a metaphor for the sweetness and potential in every child. Thanks Albert Uster Imports, presenting sponsor, every dollar produced buys at least one brand new book for a child living in poverty and/or helps replenish under-resourced libraries and classrooms in the Greater Washington region.
Last year, I was honored to don the Sweet Charity costume and walk the runway as the event’s mascot. I am excited to participate again, and host, this year!
