Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Suited for Change

I won’t be able to attend this worthy event because I will be at Print vs. Post with Andrew Keen and Peter Shankman, but in case media is not your cup of tea…

My friend Barbara Merola is chairing an event for Suited for Change, the Suite PurSuit After Party, on the May 13th from 8:30 – 11:00. Suited for Change provides professional clothing and ongoing career and life skills education to low-income women to increase their employment and job retention potential and to contribute to their economic independence.

Tickets to the event at Hudson Restaurant (21st & M Street) are $25 – including 2 drink tickets courtesy of Emperor Vodka – with 100% of donations used to expand Suited for Change career and life skills programs and ensure women have the confidence and tools to achieve economic independence.
