Stepping Out in Style: Children’s Inn Young Ambassadors’ W-INNter Affair

The Young Ambassadors Council— the newly-established young professionals chapter of Children’s Inn volunteers– celebrated their first-ever annual fundraising gala last night, proving to be as savvy and stylish as DC’s most seasoned benefit pros.

Held at the House of Sweden– an icon of sleek Scandinavian design along the Georgetown waterfront– the event featured all the staples of the city’s best fundraisers: an open bar, yummy snacks (think sliders and veggie kabobs), live music by The Winn Brothers Band (a perfect pairing with the W-INN-ter Affair!), and of course a raffle and silent auction– offering items ranging from spa kits to Virginia wine tours to a Mexican vacation! Proceeds benefited the Children’s Inn at NIH– a residential “place like home” for sick children and their families.

But most remarkably (and maybe they were riding the coattails of DC Fashion Week): guests truly delivered on the “creative cocktail” dress code. Lace, sequins, and above all bare backs were all the rage.

A winning cause with winning style.
