Stacy London of “What Not to Wear” has Style for Hire

She says there’s the same amount of shame in hiring a stylist as there is in wearing Spanx… none.

Declaring that fashion can be both a tool and an obstacle, Stacy London and her business partner, fashion executive Cindy McLaughlin held a shop crawl at DC metro area retailers Monday to kick-off their new Style for Hire business – a national network of trained personal stylists who give in-home wardrobe and shopping advice.

“You have to use what you’ve got and then go out and get what you need,” London, co-host of TLC’s “What Not to Wear,” says.  “I’m constantly explaining [on the show] why we do what we do… why somebody who is not a celebrity – or 6 feet and 100 pounds – would get something out of being made over.”

Style for Hire intends to teach customers to dress for their body types, create timeless wardrobes and, ultimately, inspire self-confidence.
