St. Regis Unveils Updated Lobby Bar

A DC institution pairs with a hot modern design firm and the new look really raises the bar.

The St. Regis late last month unveiled a renovated design to its bar and lobby with the help of the Rockwell Group.  The Group had previously updated the Hotel’s famed restaurant, Adour, but returned to finish the job — removing the separation of the bar from the lobby, adding distressed leather on the Chesterfield sofas and nickel nailheads to accent wooden tables, and casting the bar in all bronze.

According to Rockwell, it’s a “modern take on the traditional English club,” which purports to exude warmth and comfort — just like those St. Regis Sazeracs and Sidecars.
