Spoken Word, Service and at the N Street Village 7th Annual Luncheon

Spoken word performed by Gloria Mayfield Banks kicked off the 7th Annual N Street Village fundraising luncheon on Thursday afternoon. Supporters of the organization gathered at the National Press Club for a light lunch and to learn more about the non-profit’s work, successes and goals.

N Street Village, an award-winning social services agency that provides shelter and support to the homeless and low income women in the DC metro area, offers a wide breadth of high caliber services including an HIV clinic, mental wellness, addiction recovery, job training & retention services.

The recipient of N Street’s ‘Community Ally Award’ Amanda Stafford encouraged attendees to create positive change in the lives of women in need. She reminded guests, “Given the opportunity everyone can make a difference. N Street may not be able to help everyone, but everyone can help someone.”

And then — a more pressing call to action.  N Street announced that all donations received by the organization prior to June 30th would be matched by the Community Foundation of the National Capital Region up to $25,000.
