Finding a fresh place to eat can require a bit of exploration, but when you come across SOCCi you feel you’ve conquered a cuisine quest! Feel in the know noshing on this urban italian because, well, let’s just say these bites are off the beaten path.
In a hotel that opened just a year ago — the first new Crystal City hotel project in years — SOCCi is an Italian kitchen based largely on the old-world family recipes (and their local variations) of Executive Chef David Creamer.
Changing things up to melt into those warmer months, the place debuted a new “Spring” menu in May. Expect hearty homestyle Tuscan — as well as a little local take.
The deets on the eats:
Creamer features a starter of his Grandfather’s meat-filled Arrinccini as well as a nod to the Bay, making one with blue crab. Pork and veggie variations of Bucatini scream to be paired with a strong red wine and a night relaxing with friends…
Or take the resto’s already popular thin crust pizzas (new: Eggplant Capponata and Baked Clam!) beyond Happy Hour and pair with SOCCi’s take on a raspberry mojito (mojitos also available), The Cuban Society. The hotel’s “art of mixology” goes beyond – you might be tempted to work off all those eats in its martini-shaker shaped pool!
*SOCCi is located in the Renaissance Arlington Capitol View at 2800 S. Potomac Ave.
