Sheridan’s Purposeful Poker Strategy: “Drink Lots of Maker’s Mark”

This weekend, a sold out crowd participated in the Chance for Life poker tournament, raising money to combat children’s cancer, at the City Tavern Club. Last year’s champion, Win Sheridan, who went on to compete in the World Series of Poker in Las Vegas, returned to defend his title.
“Considering it was only the 6th or 7th time I played poker, I had zero expectations of staying in that long much less winning,” said Sheridan.  “It truly was one of the most random things to ever happen to me!”
“I’m really not much of a poker player but had a lot of fun, as always,” he said of returning this year to try again for the winning spot.  “This event raises a lot of money for children’s spinal cancer research.”
“If I had any strategy it was to drink lots of Maker’s Mark… and I employed that same one this year.  But I guess lightening really doesn’t strike twice in the same place!”
Sheridan made it to the 5th table, but was eliminated.  Players like Sheridan helped Chance for Life raise thousands for the cause.
