Sacre Bleu! De-Light Luncheon Boasts France’s Best with No Butter

One perfect local place to enjoy a healthy French meal is steps from Lafayette Square at the always plush Sofitel Washington’s iCi Urban Bistro.

Known for some of the most sumptuous food and rooms, Sofitel recently unveiled some healthy living — like a new gym with state of the art Techno Gym equipment that allows you to watch TV and access your social media platforms while burning calories. And speaking of calories… there aren’t many in the incredibly filling 3 course lunch on iCi’s recently refreshed De-Light Menu!

The meals are already almost a miracle, as the Thalassa Sea & Spa-inspired 3 coursers offer guests year-round options for less than 500 calories. But perhaps what’s most magical this time around is what’s missing.

As preview diners tasted the De-Light luxuries this week, Sofitel General Manager Pierre-Louis Renou shocked them with the announcement that the French dishes were made with no butter. No butter!  But you wont miss it.

Be sure to check out the Chilled Fennel Velout’e — a rich crab sauce of velvet — and any of the calorie conscious entrees.  And don’t dash on the dessert! The Coconut Cloud (at right) is what skinny dreams are made of. (That’s a mango jelly pad holding up a lightly baked coconut meringue topped with pulled sugar.)

The delightful De-Light menu is created and taught to all Sofitel Chefs in France and is developed exclusively for the Thalassa Sea & Spa resort, but can be ordered in every dining experience in the Sofitel, including room service.
