Rosa Mexicano Celebrates 30 Years Of Fiesta Worthy Cuisine

Rosa Mexicano celebrates 30 years of authentic Mexican cuisine this year, after the first installment was established in 1984 in New York City in Midtown East. Chef Josefina Howard’s vision for introducing authentic, regionally inspired Mexican cuisine was a new concept back in 1984 when rosa3the first location was opened.

Over the last 30 years, Rosa Mexicano has grown and now has fourteen United States locations (New York City, Atlanta, GA; Miami, FL; Hackensack, NJ; National Harbor, MD; Los Angeles, CA; Washington, D.C.; Chevy Chase, MD; Downtown Minneapolis, Boston and San Francisco. Rosa Mexicano also has three abroad locations (Panama City and two in Dubai).

As the franchise has grown, the Rosa Mexicano restaurants have stayed true to Chef Josefina Howard’s vision for authentic Mexican dining. From September 10 to October 12 at all Rosa Mexicano locations, the Desde 1984 menu was offered, which included dishes from the past three decades of the restaurant.rosa4

Rosa Mexicano will bring back classic dishes from the menu by rotating those Desde 1984 menu items for a whole year, which will be offered as a $30 menu or à la carte. Those items include, Empanadas de Jaiba (crispy corn empanadas filled with jumbo lump crab feet, served with avocado-tomatillo salsa), Enchiladas de Mole Pablano (two tortillas filled with shredded chicken and topped with mole sauce, sliced onions and crumbled rosa5cheese), and of course, Tres Leches de Zarzamoras (sour cream pound cake soaked in three milks, topped with blackberry-hibiscus glaze and toasted meringue).

What’s our favorite Rosa tradition?!  Have a taste of Rosa Mexicano’s legendary handmade guacamole — which they make right in front of you — and sip on the refreshing pomegranate Margarita Rosa!
