Publicity.

Almost one month after the crowning, I am thrilled with the reception I have received from the media. One of my first publicity opportunities was an interview on a Hispanic program on WJLA radio. I was also thrilled to have received write-ups in the Washington Post, Education Daily, the Atlanta Journal Constitution, and The Hill newspaper!

(Speaking of The Hill… The “50 Most Beautiful People on the Hill” (3rd edition) was published on Wednesday, July 26. As last year’s winner, it was a sad day for me to see another beautiful woman claiming my title as “Most Beautiful on the Hill” – but it was well deserved. You can see a listing of this year’s picks at http://thehill.com/thehill/export/TheHill/50Most2006/index1.html. Congratulations to one of my favorite photographers, Patrick Ryan, on the success of this feature.)

But perhaps the most exciting media opportunity I have had thus far has been the taping of a segment to air on the D.C. political talk show “In The Know” hosted by La Toya Foster. Some of the other guests on the show were candidates for Ward 5 City Council this year, so it was thrilling to share the studio with such active and interesting people! The piece is set to air this Sunday, July 30 at Noon, on ABC-7. Be sure to watch!
