What better way to celebrate an anniversary than to give a gift, and that’s just what Port City Brewing Company is doing to celebrate its upcoming 5th anniversary. The Company’s gift to the public is COLOSSAL V — a limited edition bottled beer — which is currently being aged in Port City’s own cellar.
Every year Port City Brewing Company releases a new COLOSSAL beer with a different taste, and this year the beer pays homage to the rich heritage of English ales, and pours a deep russet color with some lighter hues. It embodies a hearty and complex flavor, with sweet caramel overtones, dried fruit and a hint of hops. A few sips of the beer will transport you to a far away land. Think: Old English Countryside.
Johnathan Reeves, the Head Brewer known for his innovative beers and high quality standards, wanted to create a beer… and also a gift that keeps giving. This year’s COLOSSAL V gives flavors that will continue to mature over months or even years, which means that this is Port City Brewing Company’s first beer that can be revisited in the future and brought out for a special occasion.
Officially, COLOSSAL V will be released on Saturday, the 20th of February, and will be a limited edition, as only a small number of COLOSSAL V four packs will be available to of retailers after February 21st.
