Presidential Candidates Already Starting to Face Off at Madame Tussauds

As part of an election tradition, Madame Tussauds will unveil the clay head molds of presidential candidates Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump today. This is the first touchpoint in a process for the wax museum that will ultimately result in a full figure of the President-elect.

Once the 45th president is decided in November, Tussauds studio artists will work to make a full, finished figure by Inauguration.  That figure will join the 44 others already standing tall and proud in the attraction’s Presidents Gallery, where visitors can see them all.

In an election already filled with historic firsts, this year marks the first time in the attraction’s history that the creation of the presidential clay head sculpts began before their respective political parties officially announced their nominees.  (With Trump and Clinton emerging as decisive front-runners, the six month long figure making process began with the sculpting of their clay heads back in June.)  This is also the first time that both presidential candidates have previously been immortalized by Madame Tussauds artists.

Madame Tussauds Washington, DC is not the only location which will receive a figure of the newest President. Tussauds locations in New York, Orlando, and London will also be unveiling the victorious figure upon his or her inauguration.
