Pop-up Event Celebrates DeLeón Tequila w/ Cocktails

Tucked away in a quiet corner of the Mexican restaurant Mission Dupont was a pop-up event where friends and co-workers enjoyed private conversations over food and drink.DeLeon tequila

The pop-up event, hosted by DeLeón Tequila, was a celebration of tequila, meant, according to Deleón trade ambassador Jon Peterson, to especially highlight two kinds of DeLeón tequila –  “Platinum” and the longer brewed “Reposado.”

Peterson was on hand to share his tequila secrets, but he wasn’t the one who came up with the four cocktails of the night. That was done both Mission and by Eric King, who works at 100 Proof Strategies.  King’s drinks were The Immaculate Conception, which tasted like green fields and gardens, and Flag on the Play, reminiscent of strawberries and champagne — especially because it actually has prosecco in it.  Mission’s other creative concoctions were the Tomás Collins, a play on the iconic Tom Collins, and Purest of the Corner; Both were citrus-y in flavor.

To the discerning drinker, as Peterson would explain, the Reposado tequila drinks were stronger than those featuring Platinum. Just like choosing coffee or tea, this event invited guests to choose how strong they wanted their drink to be.
