Pinko de Mayo

Forget the cravings from south of the border, DC’s in the know were spooning up something new this Cinco de Mayo.  Pinkberry – a tart frozen yogurt brand with more than 115 stores worldwide – opened its first Washington, DC location Thursday in Dupont (1213 Connecticut Ave.)

Ron Graves, Pinkberry CEO (center in image below left), was on hand to join Stavros Roberts, Kamran Ahmed, and Amandeep Brar, local residents and area developers for the Mid-Atlantic region in celebrating the brand’s introduction to the Capital City. His one lament… they weren’t serving his favorite flavor (Coconut) at the VIP party next door at Current lounge!

Fro-yo fanatics queued down the block to be the first to taste one of Pinkberry’s six distinctive flavors offered in DC (Original, Pomegranate, Lychee, Chocolate, Mango and a season rotating feature), then headed to Dirty Martini or Current (VIP) to savor the sweetness.

*Pinkberry DC is the latest of many new markets to open recently – including Moscow, Miami, San Jose, Atlanta and Oman, with several more new markets to be announced later this year.
