Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Pink Rocks the Runway

It’s big day for boasting about the local fashion scene.  Pink Jams, a local non-profit which advocates for those struggling with cancer under the age of 40, has announced that it will team up with Christian Siriano to bring his entire Spring 2012 collection for an October 21st breast cancer awareness fashion show, Pink Rocks the Runway.

According to Siriano, he’s “excited to come home and bring the New York fashion scene with [me]… Pink Rocks the Runway will be fun and fantastic.”

The event to be held at the International Trade Center Atrium combines “couture,” cancer and the music of the Charm City Devils to create awareness and raise funds for breast cancer research, education and resources for young breast cancer patients.  Front row seats – and the chance to meet Christian – available for a select few.
