Ping Pong’s Year of the Rabbit Party Perks

Celebrating Chinese New Year (also called the Lunar New Year), Chinatown’s Ping Pong Dim Sum hosted a Year of the Rabbit event Thursday night.  Chinese lanterns, fruits and red lighting designs with themes such as happiness, longevity and wealth highlighted this 4th symbol in the twelve year cycle of the Chinese Zodiac.  A very in tune DJ spun luck off the turntable.

Specialty cocktails and passed dim sum were just some of Ping Pong’s party perks.  Invited guests were tantalized with card and tea leaf readings – glimpses into what the new year will bring!

Drums and Dragon Dancers made it a true traditional celebration, with other Chinese New Year traditions including money (gift cards!) in red paper envelopes (Ang Pows).

*Are you a Rabbit? If so, you have these characteristics: gracious, good friend, kind, sensitive, soft-spoken, amiable, elegant, reserved, cautious, artistic, thorough, tender, self-assured, shy, astute, compassionate, lucky, flexible, but can be moody, detached, superficial, self-indulgent, opportunistic and stubborn.  It is said that Hares match persons born in the Year of the Sheep, Pig or Dog.
