Kid’s Pie-eating Contest |
The holiday weekend also welcomed Loudoun County’s only u-pick Strawberry Festival, inviting attendees from across the region to pick their own strawberries and enjoy days (May 28,29) of family fun at Great Country Farms.
Rope Maze |
Hayrides to and from the u-pick fields brought back bushels of the biggest berries with the earlybirds while others took part in a pie eating contest, putt putt, farm animal petting, Bluemont Vineyards wine tasting, a tart toss, a rope maze… and Grandma Z’s famous Strawberry Shortcakes.
Animal Petting |
The Jubilee is just over, but the prime picking continues! Wait a few days for the plants to replenish, but Great Country Farms’ u-pick fields will re-open as long as supplies last. (*These berries are chemical-free, $2.49 lb for u-pick. Pre-picked also available to buy in the Country Store.)
