Phillips Collection 90th Annual Gala

When it comes to the Phillips Collection’s 90th Annual Gala, “you can’t help but get excited about art!” explained guest and supporter of the arts, Elaine Maslamani.


Stepping back in time 90 years to the Roaring Twenties in commemoration of the museum’s debut in 1921, attendees donned their finest pearls and fedoras. Following the exclusive cocktail reception and dinner hosted at the Phillips Collection, hundreds of guests joined in the elegance, glitz, and glamour at the After Party held at the nearby Anderson House, home of the Society of Cincinnati. Guests helped to celebrate the Phillips Collection’s 90 years of creative innovation as they enjoyed savories and sweets, sipped vintage cocktails, and danced to big band music in the stunning ballroom. 

A star-studded event that brought together DC’s political, diplomatic, cultural, and business elite, including Norwegian Ambassador Wegger Strommen, Swedish Ambassador Jonas HafstromJapanese Ambassador Ichiro Fujisaki and Supreme Court Justice Stephen Breyerthe black-tie fete benefited the many award-winning education programs of the Phillips Collection and brought attention to the array of new interactive tools.
