[Party Pix] Washingtonian’s ‘Best Of’ Bash

A sell-out of success every summer, Washingtonian Magazine held it’s annual ‘Best Of‘ event Wednesday evening at the National Building Museum.  Filling one of the city’s largest event spaces with DC’s most popular restaurants, experiences and even a silent auction to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, 2013’s beltway best didn’t disappoint.

While Editor Garrett Graff raved about Pabu‘s Okinawa seaweed with octopus, shrimp and yam, others couldn’t get enough of Blue Duck Tavern‘s crab succotash (coming to its regular menu soon!) or the new Teddy & the Bully Bar‘s take on peaches and cream (crostini with peaches, goat cheese anad basil).

There were walking oyster shuckers, a crepe and a risotto buffet, and the chance to take a picture with the Coca-Cola/Dr. Pepper/Pepsi delivery dudes (courtesy of the American Beverage Association) up in the VIP area.  But even where the masses meandered, there were enough tasty treats — and make-it-yourself patron margaritas — to satisfy the city’s extreme foodies.  (Plus, Executive Chefs were usually in attendance!)

Among the attendees spotted were NBC’s Doug Kammerer and Doreen Gentzler, ABC’s Rebecca Cooper, Real Housewives of DC’s Rich Amons, and, of course, Washingtonian Magazine President and Publisher Catherine Merrill Williams.
