Just last year, the Meridian Ball first added its Young Professionals ticket category, and already, “youth” has become the focus of the event.
The Ball, held at a once private residence which is now home to the offices of Meridian International Center, is a Washington social staple in its 45th year, and is held in conjunction with Meridian’s Global Leadership Summit (dinners are hosted at more than 20 embassies — and the White-Meyer House adjacent to the Meridian House — before guests proceed to the ball).
In past years, a ticket to the dinner was an ultimate luxury that not many of the city’s young and social could afford, but 2013 co-chairs Dr. Britlan Malek and Dalia Mroue-Fateh were charged with
breathing some new life into the experience — in addition to its usual DC dose of diverse food and culture. This year, the under-40 crowd attended dinner at the White-Meyer House and enjoyed an evening of renewed excitement and energy.
Among those in attendance were Laura Carlson, Jason Mandel, Ryan Seelbach, Masha Tatianina and Fran Holuba.
