Only a Dufus Drives Drunk

We’re no math wizards, but one equation we know for sure is this: New Year’s revelry + icy roads + D.C. drivers = dangerous mix. There’s plenty of options out there so plan ahead to stay safe….

Tonight is the last night for SoberRide, the annual service that offers free taxi rides home to anyone who’s been out at a bar or party and enjoyed it so much they shouldn’t get behind the wheel. Just call 800-200-TAXI (800-200-8294) between 10 PM and 6 AM and you can get a ride worth up to $50 anywhere in the Washington metropolitan area. Not a bad deal.

Metro will run until 2 a.m., and the Circulator buses will run late as well — the Georgetown-to-Union Station route will go until 2 AM, and the Adams Morgan-to-McPherson Square route, which stops at 14th and U streets NW, has been extended until 3:30 AM.

And for those of you partying on the other side of town, the H Street Shuttle, which ferries partiers between the Gallery Place-Chinatown Metro station and the bars and clubs on H Street NE, will run until 3 AM.

Plan before the party to guarantee your good time.
