Two Steps Back… in time last night when I went to the UGA Terry College Alum Reception. Our most recent new Dean was in town to promote the University’s business programs (which I, of course, think are exemplary!) and start a new group for alum activities in the Capitol City. I was surprised at how many of my DC friends are actually Terry alum. Good times at Old Ebbitt Grill, an old stomping ground from my time on the Hill that I just don’t make it to so much anymore…
And a step forward after watching the debates last night. I think most everyone agreed that Palin would undoubtedly surpass everyone’s low expectations… which she did. And Biden would need to have some restraint and chivalry in his manner when debating a woman… which he did.
Some of my favorites from the night included Biden telling everyone that he spent a good deal of time in the Home Depot and Palin calling out the “Castro Brothers” as if they were Wild, Wild West Bandits. Shame we only get one VP debate – this is the stuff snarky t-shirt quotes are made of!
