HAD to leave Narnia for a short meeting in Alexandria and thought I could get a quick cab at least to the metro station afterward. No. Not a chance.
How can a place call itself a city if someone has to walk/search ten blocks and then Stand. In. The. Middle. Of. The. Street to flag down a taxi??

Yeah that’s Alexandria and it definitely is not the city. It is pretty much the same situation all over NOVA (Arlington/Clarendon may be an exception). You typically have to call ahead of time to get a cab, you can’t just walk out of your home and expect there to be a million of them zooming by …
