Nigel Barker Talks Top Model Tricks and the “Beauty Equation”

“I certainly never considered naming it ‘Skin Deep,'” America’s Next Top Model judge, high fashion photographer and author Nigel Barker said as he spoke about his new book at a VIP signing event at Eden’s Green Room Thursday night.

Instead, “Beauty Equation” is a tome about his theme of true beauty and body image – complete with tips and tricks for amateur photographers and advice for the aspiring model.

So what’s Barker’s formula for finding a fashion model?  Being easy on the eyes doesn’t hurt.  But that doesn’t sum it all up.  “I [also] look for things like authenticity.  I look for a sense of humor.  I look for passion. I look for something that’s going to bring your eyes alive.  You hear it all of the time on America’s Next Top Model…  Personality is key.”
