Hundreds came out to support the military community Friday night at the Viva Las Vegas! USO-Metro Casino Night at Arlington’s Sheraton Hotel. The annual soiree included one very familiar face, Redskins’ legend and Riggo’s Ranger‘s founder John Riggins, who explained why supporting those who serve was always in the cards for him.

“I’ve been coming for the past 6 or 7 years to their events,” said Riggins of his involvement with the USO.  “In the future I would love to go visit the troops in Iraq and Afghanistan….”

“I will never feel whole because I did not serve.  I remember during my NFL career when they would play the national anthem and I would reflect on the men and women who sacrificed and made this particular day possible.  I never got away from it.”

“I’ve always been active with and enamored with the military.  I have a tremendous amount of respect for military members just because they stand in harm’s way for our freedom.  They are the foundations of our civilization.   Soldiers honor you with their presence.  They have the ultimate courage putting their life on the line for their country.“
