The “Newsbabes” have “grown up” — and invited in the men! — in their ever-growing collaboration to combat breast cancer.  The newly branded NewsBash 2015 brought out supporters Tuesday night to the Warner Building atrium (threat of rain kept everyone off the rooftop), for a parade of pink that raised funds for their purpose.

Guests enjoyed rose colored cocktails and caught up with their favorite news personalities while posing for cooky photos in the on-site sponsored photobooth.

This year’s event supported Prevent Cancer Foundation‘s Celebremos La Vida! program, a breast and cervical cancer education and early detection program for medically underserved women in the Hispanic community.

Guest speaker Rep. Linda Sánchez (D-Calif.) thanked everyone – and especially the news media — for continuing to bring recognition to this cause.  And while bigger is better in this case, she still liked the old name:  “Personally, I kind of dig the NewsBabes monicker,” she said. “I thought it was kind of hip.”
