New Year’s Night, Done Right

We haven’t even opened the presents under the tree (or bought them all yet!), but the burning question is already being posed: What are the plans for New Year’s??!  Here’s our list of local Eve events to suit every party personality.

For what kind of year do you yearn?

Incognito & On the Move
Dinner and dancing en masque.  Lima and its new posh hideaway Vetro offer three floors of masquerade fun, with a variety of packages to suit any appetite.  This costumed celebration offers the traditional taste and toasts option and attracts a sophisticated international set.  Prices start at $45.  Bottle service offered on some levels.

Music and Other Mania
Smith Point and Sick Feed.  Booze and tunes to ring in the New Year in the most memorable way that you’ll never remember.  No other explanation needed.  9:30 PM – 1 AM, $70/ person  Ticket info here.

Ritzy, but Relaxed
The W Hotel offers a variety of packages to suit, but we suggest the Rooftop Soiree, W Stay and Breakfast, as its best deal for a great New Year’s Day. Receive a bottle of champagne upon checking in to your room, then head up to the W rooftop for an open bar countdown soiree.  Dance and drink the night away knowing that you have a full continental breakfast and late checkout the following day (2 PM)!  All this for $529 (per couple).  Rate code: NYEBRPKG.

Foodie and Fabulous
Since the arrival of Hudson’s new Chef, the meals at this West End resto-lounge are even more mouthwatering.  Relax with friends at the restaurant’s late seating to enjoy a four course taste of Chef Demetrio’s dinner offerings and a guaranteed table reservation through to midnight’s champagne toast.  Early seatings, G/A, Open Bar and After Hours options are also available.

A Little Lagniappe
Available for a dinner seating or just drinks, the brand new Bayou Restaurant and live music venue opens up in Foggy Bottom.  Get your groove on to music from the Glen David Andrews Band as you “travel” to Louisiana for a N’orleans night on the town.

In the Archives
The brand new DC Museum brings back the era of “Cafe Society.” Return to the best of bygone days with bossa nova in the Banking Hall and Bobby Short style piano playing in the Board Room.  Hors d’oeuvres and craft cocktails served throughout the evening add a little pre-prohibition flair to the party.*Note: Rates have not yet been released for this event.

Just Pure Fun
There’s no need for fancy plans to start your New Year off right; you already know where we find fun!  Make the rounds of some of our regular night spots…sponsors, Current, 19th and The Mighty Pint!…because going where everybody knows your name is really what makes a gathering great.
