Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. National Harbor is Constructing a Summer Snow Dome!

How will National Harbor keep cool this summer? Yesterday, the venue dished with K Street Magazine on plans for a heat haven — Harbor Dome: Summer Snow Globe.

Yes, this translucent dome will act as a winter bar and lounge, complete with live music and regular flurries. The one-of-a-kind construction will accommodate 500 inside, and an additional 300 outside (plus its dynamic programming, including craft cocktails, live music and real snow).

The space will officially open Friday, August 18 with White Ford Bronco and Magic Giant performing throughout the weekend. But hurry! Like your favorite snowman, this one’s only popping up and melting away.
