Meet Your New First Ladies of Football

The 2011 Redskin Cheerleading squad was selected on stage at the State Theatre in Falls Church Sunday.  58 girls competed for the final spots after a week long audition process that included dance routines, sideline cheering and fitness in swimsuit among other traits of charisma and personality.

The girls started off the show with a dance routine in their cocktail dresses, then performed sideline routines and more lengthy dance combinations and showed off their “calendar ready” bodies – an important theme of the competition as the Redskin Cheerleader’s swimsuit calendar is one of the highest selling annuals in the NFL.

The team’s four returning Captains introduced the cheerleaders’ duties, which not only include game day dancing, but also community service and occasional trips abroad to support the troops before leading the newly selected 2011 squad in a rousing Redskin Cheerleader rendition of “Hail to the Chief.”
