Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Media Mavens @ The Park

What is a Media Maven?? Do you know a blogger (um…you’re reading one now!), someone who develops web applications, a store that has been innovative with their internet use? These are your media mavens. Those of us who harness the power of technology for social and commercial benefit. And we’re not just taking over the web… we throw great parties, too!

Last night was our Media Mavens party at The Park @14th, actually put on through the hard work of the one and only Miss Laura Carlson. Congratulations on an excellent turnout and a great time had by all! The event also served as a benefit for the Blondes vs. Brunettes football game.

If you missed the four floors of cocktails and Park’s delicious specialities, what can I say? Sorry? It was a night of social media enthusiasm that caught on faster than Cheeky Geeky’s twitter updates! 🙂 I’ll definitely be back to taste a real meal at the Park soon, on Cat Bynum’s smart suggestion.

And a HUGE THANKS to the group of folks who supported me by wearing KStreetKate t-shirts to the event last night.
