Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. You’ll catch her interviewing guests on DC’s NewChannel8′s Let’s Talk Live and showcasing products on BestBuy.com, as well as work appearing on NBC, Fox, Comcast and local print publications.

Major Milestone: K Street Kate Turns 5

K Street Kate celebrated FIVE years of bringing our audience the coolest of the Capital City Wednesday night with a cocktail – and connecting – celebration at the National Press Club.

Friends and supporters of our local online lifestyle magazine came together for a ballroom bash to toast five years’ coverage of local trendsetters and tastemakers and to announce the mag’s new tagline: Livin’ La Vida Local. The event, just as our content, was overflowing with the best this city has to offer!

Guests couldn’t get enough of the music of local blues/rock sensation Ted Garber and libations provided courtesy of Smartwater, Absolut Vodka, Malibu Rum, and wine (thanks to the branding and website development firm Imageworks Studio), and raised their glasses, in conjunction with the National Press Club Young Members Committee, to K Street Kate’s major milestone in providing quality online lifestyle content.
