Runners and receptioners laced up their kicks to kick-off the inaugural Nike Women’s Half/Marathon DC — to benefit the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society — with a breakfast event at the new Georgetown Nike store Tuesday morning.
Reveling in their last gluttony of Ridgewell’s pastries before months of race prep with Team in Training, LLS’s endurance sport charity campaign, dozens of runners (TNT will train 700+ runners/walkers) looked forward to completing the race on April 28, 2013, while raising funds to make a difference in the lives of cancer patients and their families.
Four lucky ladies won Nike gift certificates in a surprise raffle!
Nike also promoted their newest gear and gadgets, including a SportWatch with GPS and a new free runners’ app with features to support these marathoners in the making.
