Lights!

Ellie Goulding told you: The lights are calling.

And the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities and the Golden Triangle BID are getting lit… installing a permanent light art concept along Connecticut Avenue between K Street and Dupont Circle.

The major streetscape enhancement, designed by local artist Alexander Cooper (who recently installed lighting for “Farragut Spheres” (left) donated to WMATA), incorporates programmable, low energy LED lights on a four block raised median.

“Mr. Cooper’s light display is an excellent example of how public art and urban planning can come together to create a beautiful environment for our residents,” said DC Arts & Humanities Commission ED Lionell Thomas.

Beautification.  A bright idea.
