Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Her media portfolio includes a spread in Elle magazine and features on Inside Edition and BBC World News’ “The Real Cities” series. Let the Games Begin Again!

Vancouver is getting a double dose of Olympic action this year. After dispersing the Winter Olympics crowds, the International Paralympics‘ athletes have descended on the town with equal ambition and competitive spirit.

And the Canadian Embassy in DC is giving us a second helping of their now famed sports-night soirees as well.

Ambassador Gary Doer, gracious host of viewing parties for the Olympic Winter Games, invited guests to kick-off the Paralympics with a party for the Canadian sledge hockey game Thursday night at the Embassy.

Huge viewing screens, Wii consoles, and cheering for the able disabled athletes will continue with periodic viewing parties throughout the games’ 64 scheduled events.
