Kate Michael, @kstreetkate, is a Writer/Model/On-Camera Host and Event Emcee. Notable as the Founder and current Editor-At-Large of K Street Magazine, Kate started the site while serving as Miss District of Columbia 2006 and competing in Miss America (2007). Currently, Kate works as a professional spokesperson and model, walking the runway for such industry icons as Valentino, Derek Lam, Naeem Kahn and Oscar de la Renta. Kristi Yamaguchi To Headline DC Read In Day

Kristi Yamaguchi, Olympic Gold Medalist and winner of Dancing With the Stars, comes to town Saturday, March 10th to do more page turning than pirouetting.

The skater/philanthropist/author will headline DC’s 2nd annual DC Read In, a day long celebration of reading.

The day is filled with events including edible book contests (Chevy Chase/Takoma Park libraries), a discussion on the past, present and future of books (Watha T. Daniel/Shaw Library), and readings by Yamaguchi of her children’s book “Dream Big, Little Pig!” All events surround this year’s theme, From the Stone Age to the Digital Age.
